A skilled Occupational Therapist with experience in school settings is needed for a full school year contract in Des Plaines, IL. This role involves supporting K-12 students by providing therapeutic interventions that enhance their educational experience and promote independence within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students occupational therapy needs
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to student goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate therapy into daily classroom activities
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed to optimize outcomes
- Maintain clear and timely documentation in compliance with school and regulatory standards
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized education program (IEP) planning
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist licensure with relevant school-based experience
- Familiarity with pediatric occupational therapy practices, especially in K-12 settings
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage caseload efficiently while adapting to the dynamics of the school environment
