A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide specialized support for K-12 students during a leave of absence. This contract role is based in Joliet, IL, offering an opportunity to deliver high-quality speech and language therapy services in a dynamic educational setting.
Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students. The SLP will collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet students' unique needs. Monitoring student progress and maintaining detailed documentation is essential to ensure effective therapy outcomes. Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings is also expected to support student development comprehensively.
Qualified candidates should hold a valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in speech-language pathology and possess experience working in school settings serving children from kindergarten through 12th grade. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with educational teams, and knowledge of relevant laws and regulations impacting school-based therapy.
