Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position requires three Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to support K-5 students across multiple schools within a public school district in Alabama. This contract role is full-time, providing direct support to young learners in elementary and middle school settings.
Location: Semmes, AL
Assignment Duration: Current School Year (from ASAP to May 22, 2026)
Work Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Work Setting: On-site only
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language assistance to students in grades K-5 under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist.
- Deliver individualized therapeutic support across assigned schools including elementary and middle school locations.
- Support caseload management and documentation in compliance with school district policies.
- Collaborate with educators and other school staff to reinforce therapy goals within the classroom setting.
Qualifications:
- Registered Speech-Language Pathology Assistant credential with the Board of Speech Examiners (registration required; AL DOE SLPA licenses not acceptable for this contract role).
- Experience working with children in K-5 educational settings, preferably in speech-language pathology support roles.
- Ability to travel between assigned school locations within the district.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
