Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Calumet City, IL, serving students from early childhood through 8th grade. This contract position runs through June 3, 2026, with a schedule of approximately 33.75 hours per week. The role requires on-site presence only.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to students EC-8th grade, addressing a variety of communication disorders
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Conduct evaluations, track progress, and document treatment outcomes in compliance with district and state requirements
- Maintain effective communication with school staff and families to support student success
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement as a Speech-Language Pathologist issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is highly desirable
- Experience working in a school setting, preferably with K-8 students
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to student-centered therapy and individualized treatment planning
