Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time, onsite opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide direct therapy and evaluations within a K-12 school setting in Clovis, NM. This contract position runs from December 1, 2025, to May 21, 2026, supporting students across all grade levels. Caseload assignments will be tailored based on your experience and preferences, allowing you to effectively contribute to student progress while gaining valuable school-based therapy experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Perform evaluations to assess student needs and develop appropriate therapy plans
- Collaborate with educators and other school professionals to support comprehensive student care
- Maintain accurate documentation according to school and state requirements
- Adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs within the school environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active COTA certification and license in New Mexico required
- Experience working in school-based occupational therapy settings preferred
- Understanding of special education processes and IEP development a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively partner with students, families, and staff
