An opportunity is available for an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide comprehensive support within a K-12 school setting. This full-time, contract position offers a dynamic role working directly with students from kindergarten through 12th grade, delivering essential therapy services that foster growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to a diverse caseload of K-12 students
- Conduct evaluations to assess student needs and develop tailored intervention plans
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to support student progress
- Manage caseload assignments based on experience and preferences to optimize outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation compliant with school and state guidelines
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active COTA certification/license valid in New Mexico
- Experience working in a school-based occupational therapy setting is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet individual student needs
- Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuous learning
Location:Position is onsite in Melrose, New Mexico, serving a K-12 school environment.
