An opportunity for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized services within a K-12 school setting in Thomasville, NC is available. This contract position runs from ASAP through January 31, 2026, requiring 25-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The caseload will range from 40 to 45 students with grades and location within the district to be determined.
Responsibilities include assisting students with communicative challenges related to articulation, language, voice, and fluency, aiming to maximize their communication potential based on age and cognition. The SLP will coordinate services with educational staff and families, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and maintain accurate documentation, including Medicaid billing for eligible students using ECATS and designated billing services. The role demands collaboration with principals, exceptional childrens program administrators, and special education leads.
Key Duties:
- Organize and oversee speech-language services within the school program.
- Perform screenings, diagnostic assessments, and provide recommendations.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with educational goals.
- Manage therapy delivery efficiently, ensuring compliance with ethical standards.
- Provide consultation and collaborate with other professionals to optimize student support.
- Supervise assistants and clinical fellows as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- NC License in Speech-Language Pathology (G License from NC DPI required).
- Proven experience with ECATS software.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- Must be available for onsite work exclusively.
- No Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) are currently on staff, so independent caseload management is required.
