This opportunity seeks a skilled Occupational Therapist to support elementary and some middle school students in the Montrose, CO area. The role focuses on providing both direct and indirect therapy services, primarily serving two elementary campuses within a public school district. Candidates with experience working with students who have Significant Support Needs will find this position rewarding and impactful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to individual student needs at elementary and middle school levels.
- Manage a caseload that includes both direct intervention and indirect support.
- Complete thorough evaluations and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with detailed documentation.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to implement effective therapy strategies.
- Maintain compliance with all paperwork requirements for therapy services and evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Successful completion of the NBCOT national certification exam.
- Current state licensure to practice Occupational Therapy.
- Prior experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred, especially with students requiring significant support.
- Strong organizational skills to handle caseload and documentation efficiently.
Location and Schedule:
- Position based onsite in Montrose, Colorado.
- Contract duration from immediate start through 05/21/2026.
- Work schedule totals 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
