This opportunity is ideal for a licensed Occupational Therapist specializing in school-based therapy, located in Ridgway, CO. The position supports elementary students primarily, with some middle school students included, many of whom have significant support needs. The role involves providing both direct and indirect occupational therapy services within an established school district, ensuring comprehensive care through collaborative interventions and detailed documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students across two elementary schools and select middle school students.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Manage a caseload with significant support requirements, incorporating both direct therapy sessions and indirect support.
- Complete required paperwork, including assessment reports and IEP documentation, adhering to district and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to foster student development and educational success.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam.
- Valid state licensure to practice occupational therapy.
- Experience working with pediatric populations in school settings preferred.
- Ability to manage a caseload involving students with varying levels of support needs.
Position Details:
- Contract position lasting through the current school year, ending May 21, 2026.
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
- Onsite presence primarily required to support student engagement and collaboration.
