A full-time position is available for a School Social Worker serving elementary students in Sterling Heights, MI. This contract role will continue through June 11, 2026, supporting an in-school caseload five days per week. The role requires a dedicated professional with specialized knowledge of social work functions within a school environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work from a State Board-approved graduate program
- Temporary or full approval for school social work from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families
- Experience as a School Social Worker preferred
- Skilled in identifying and connecting with resources inside and outside the school system
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and provide counseling to elementary students in an educational setting
- Develop and implement interventions to support students social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create supportive learning environments
- Link students and families to community resources to address external challenges impacting academic success
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and district policies
