Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed to support a K-12 school district with a focus on elementary-aged students in Altoona, PA. This full-semester contract position offers the opportunity to provide occupational therapy services in a school setting, working primarily in one or two buildings within the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy assistance to K-12 students, primarily at the elementary level
- Collaborate with the districts OCR (Occupational Therapist in supervisory/oversight role)
- Assess and support students functional needs to enhance their participation in school activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication with school staff and parents
- Adapt therapy techniques to meet varied student needs according to educational goals
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working in school-based occupational therapy settings
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with K-12 educational environments and student populations
Work Schedule and Location:
- Location: Altoona, PA area (Philipsburg)
- Contract duration: Full Semester, starting ASAP through May 29, 2026
- Workweek: Monday through Friday, approximately 5-6 hours per day
