A full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position is available within a K-12 school setting in Seattle, WA, serving a diverse student population. This contract role will run through June 30, 2026, with an immediate start.
This opportunity focuses on providing occupational therapy support to students with severe emotional and behavioral needs, medically fragile conditions, and an understanding of Native American cultures, which is highly preferred. Candidates with previous school-based therapy experience are encouraged to apply, as the position involves working closely with students across all grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students with diverse and complex needs in a K-12 environment
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Adapt therapy approaches to support students behavioral, emotional, and medical challenges
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with educational and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Washington State
- OSPI fingerprint clearance obtained
- Familiarity with the credentialing process through the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) is required; candidates should be aware this may delay the start date by up to one week
- Experience working with Native American populations and medically fragile children is strongly preferred
- Prior occupational therapy experience in school settings is highly valued
