Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Contract Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position is available in a K-12 school setting in Tacoma, WA, with an assignment through the current school year ending June 30, 2026. This role requires hands-on experience working with students who have severe emotional and behavioral needs, as well as medically fragile children. Preference will be given to candidates with prior school experience and knowledge of Native American cultures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students with diverse and complex needs within a K-12 environment
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Support students in achieving developmental and educational goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and Bureau of Indian Education credentialing processes
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Washington State COTA license with OSPI fingerprints
- Familiarity with Native American cultural considerations is highly preferred
- Experience working with severe emotional behavior challenges and medically fragile children
- Previous school-based occupational therapy experience is highly desirable
