Blazer Jobs is currently partnering with a school district in Arcadia, LA to fill a full-time Physical Therapist (PT) position for the upcoming new school year. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced professionals passionate about helping students succeed through supportive, school-based physical therapy services.
Job Description:
As a contracted School-Based Physical Therapist, you will work collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff to help students develop or improve mobility and physical independence necessary for their educational progress. You will serve as a vital member of each students IEP team, ensuring compliance with all federal and state mandates while delivering high-quality therapy services.
Responsibilities:
Conduct physical therapy assessments and interpret results to identify students' needs.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team.
Provide direct therapy services to students with a range of physical challenges.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Consult with teachers and staff on classroom strategies and accommodations.
Recommend and train staff in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technologies.
Maintain thorough and compliant documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
Active Louisiana Physical Therapist License.
Must satisfy all local and state regulatory requirements for school-based employment.
Prior experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
