Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and licensed School Psychologist to join our student support team in Norfolk, VA for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychological services to K12 students, supporting their academic achievement and emotional well-being through evaluations, interventions, and collaborative problem-solving. This is a vital role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, behavioral, and emotional development.

Contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans in partnership with school staff and families.

Deliver counseling services to students individually or in small groups, addressing emotional, behavioral, and social needs.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to design and monitor effective support strategies.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and student support processes.

Provide crisis intervention and support during school emergencies.

Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.

Stay informed on best practices, legal updates, and current research in school psychology.
Qualifications:

Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution

Valid Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) School Psychologist License or eligibility

Completion of a supervised internship (minimum 1,200 hours, with 600 hours in a school setting)

Passing score on the Praxis II School Psychologist Examination (min. score of 147 for Virginia)

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and related special education laws

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred
