Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Duties

Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for students with speech, language, and communication disorders

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student growth

Provide therapy sessions and document student progress

Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Federal and State Requirements

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Current Florida SLP license required

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and FERPA regulations

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Florida school districts
