Position Overview
Blazer Jobs is seeking a compassionate and experienced School Social Worker to support students in an elementary school setting in Zion, IL for the 20252026 school year. The ideal candidate will provide counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support to help students overcome barriers to learning and thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling services to address students social, emotional, and behavioral needs

Develop and implement intervention plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and administrators

Participate in the IEP process by conducting assessments and contributing to eligibility determinations

Offer crisis intervention and support for students and families in need

Collaborate with school staff and community agencies to coordinate comprehensive services

Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and state regulations
Qualifications

Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) required

Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement required

Previous school-based experience strongly preferred, especially at the elementary level

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
