School Psychologist Job Duties

Conduct psychological and educational assessments to identify student strengths and needs

Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective interventions

Support students academic, behavioral, and emotional development

Participate in IEP and eligibility meetings, providing professional input and data-based recommendations

Provide counseling, consultation, and crisis intervention services as needed

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations for special education and student services
Federal and State Requirements

Masters or Doctorate degree in School Psychology from an accredited program

Current South Carolina certification or licensure as a School Psychologist required

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by South Carolina school districts
