Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Job Duties

Assist the Occupational Therapist in providing therapy services to students with fine motor, sensory, or functional challenges

Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist

Support students in developing skills necessary for classroom participation and daily routines

Document student progress and report updates to the supervising OT

Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
Federal and State Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

Current Arizona COTA license required
-
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Arizona school districts
