Located in Flint, MI, this K-12 school district is seeking a Mental Health Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year on a contract basis. This position focuses on providing direct social-emotional support services to general education students through individual and group interventions. In addition, the specialist will support classrooms and buildings with professional learning opportunities and assist in implementing positive behavior programs as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering individual and group counseling to support students' social and emotional development
- Collaborating with classroom staff to implement positive behavior support strategies
- Facilitating professional learning sessions to enhance staff capacity in addressing mental health
- Serving as a resource to the school community for social-emotional concerns
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in a relevant field
- One of the following licenses or credentials:
- Licensed masters level psychologist or limited licensed psychologist under supervision
- Michigan Department of Education credentialed masters level school psychologist
- Licensed masters level social worker or school social worker, or limited licensed social worker under supervision
- Licensed bachelor level social worker actively pursuing LMSW or LLMSW within 24 months
- Licensed masters level marriage and family therapist
- Licensed masters level professional counselor or limited licensed counselor under supervision
- Valid School Counselor License (SCL), Preliminary School Counselor Credential (PSCC), Temporary School Counselor License (TSCL), or Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor endorsement, with plans to meet required licensure within 24 months as applicable
