A school-based Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for the current school year, supporting Pre-K through K-12 students in Flint, MI. This contract position focuses on delivering therapy services primarily for Pre-K caseloads, with potential to serve a broader range of student ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to Pre-K and K-12 students according to individual education plans
- Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and track student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
- Address challenges specific to urban student populations, incorporating appropriate resources and strategies
- Maintain compliance with state licensure and school policies
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in Michigan; Clinical Fellow Year (CFY) candidates considered if holding a temporary license and with supervisory support
- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders in school-aged children
- Familiarity with urban school environments and cultural responsiveness to diverse student needs
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within a school setting
Location and Schedule:
- Primarily onsite at Flint, MI schools; tele-therapy considered but onsite preferred
- Contract duration: November 8, 2025 through June 12, 2026
