A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available within a collaborative special education cooperative serving multiple school districts in the Chicago, IL area. This contract role supports students from Kindergarten through 12th grade in structured learning environments designed for children with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.
Location and Assignment Details:
- Positions across multiple schools including Willowbrook High School (Villa Park, IL), Addison Trail High School (Addison, IL), Maercker Intermediate School (Westmont, IL), and PrairieView Elementary School (Downers Grove, IL)
- Caseload includes 3-4 self-contained classrooms per SLP, each with approximately 6-8 students
- Assignment duration extends from ASAP through approximately May 28th, 2025 (final end date varies by school)
- Full-time hours expected, ranging from 35 to 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy services tailored to students within the Structured Learning Environment (SLE) program
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans addressing communication needs
- Collaborate with educational and support staff to integrate therapy goals with classroom activities
- Monitor and document student progress effectively in accordance with program standards
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech Endorsement
- Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist License
- Candidates holding Clinical Fellow Year (CFY) status or those licensed as Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) are encouraged to apply
- Experience working with children with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities preferred
