Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a full-time Occupational Therapist position within a K-12 school district in Olathe, KS. The role supports students in developing essential functional skills, managing sensory needs, and fostering social-emotional growth. The assignment runs through the current school year and is contract-based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students across various schools, including middle, elementary, and alternative education settings.
- Assess students functional and sensory needs and develop individualized treatment plans to enhance their academic and social success.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support students' participation in school activities.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.
- Advocate for adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and sensory strategies to promote student independence.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Kansas.
- Experience delivering OT services within a school setting preferred.
- Skilled in supporting students with diverse functional and sensory needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with children from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Location:
- Work will take place at multiple schools within the Kansas City, Kansas area, including Argentine Middle School, Stony Point North Elementary, Cambers Academy (alternative school), and Emerson Elementary.
Position Details:
- Start date: ASAP through May 22, 2026.
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Contract position within the current school year.
