Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide therapeutic support in a K-12 educational setting within the Kansas City, KS area, focusing on the development of functional skills, sensory needs, and social-emotional growth for students across multiple schools, including middle and elementary levels as well as an alternative academy.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to student needs within school environments
- Collaborate with educators and staff to implement individualized plans that foster student development
- Address sensory integration challenges and support social-emotional skill-building for diverse learners
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with relevant regulations
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary approaches enhancing student outcomes
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license with Kansas state certification
- Experience providing OT services within school settings, preferably K-12
- Strong understanding of childhood developmental milestones and educational therapy interventions
- Ability to work effectively with children exhibiting a range of sensory and emotional needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in collaborative school environments
Location:
- Shawnee, KS area with placements in several schools including Argentine Middle, Stony Point North Elementary, Cambers Academy (alternative school), and Emerson Elementary
Employment Details:
- Full time, 37.5 hours per week
- Contract position for the current school year (CSY)
- Immediate start available, with contract extending through May 22, 2026
