Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A middle school guidance counselor opportunity is available to support students in a general education setting from January 12, 2026, through June 5, 2026, covering a maternity leave. This contract position is based in the Minneapolis, MN area, with full-time hours Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing counseling and social-emotional support to middle school students
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and staff to address student needs
- Assisting students with academic planning, conflict resolution, and personal development
- Maintaining confidential records and adhering to ethical guidelines
- Promoting a positive and safe school environment for all students
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid licensure as a General Education School Counselor
- Experience working with middle school-aged children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and respond to student concerns
- Knowledge of counseling strategies applicable in a school setting
