An Occupational Therapist (OT) opportunity is available for a contract position within a K-12 school setting, serving elementary and middle school students across two campuses. This role is designed for professionals experienced in school-based occupational therapy, dedicated to supporting the developmental and functional needs of students to enhance their academic and daily living skills.
Location: Ridgeland, SC
Position: Occupational Therapist (School-Based)
Duration: January through June (Contract)
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to K-8 students, addressing fine motor skills, sensory integration, and self-care abilities in alignment with educational goals.
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop individualized education program (IEP) goals and implement effective therapeutic interventions within the school environment.
- Conduct assessments, document progress, and adjust treatment plans to ensure measurable improvements in student participation and function.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student success and compliance with federal and state special education regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license with experience in school-based therapy settings.
- Strong understanding of childhood developmental stages and educational requirements.
- Ability to work effectively with children across elementary and middle school age groups.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals.
