Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Duties

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student development

Provide direct therapy sessions and maintain accurate documentation of progress

Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Federal and State Requirements

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Current Connecticut SLP license required

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and FERPA regulations

Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Connecticut school districts
