Occupational Therapist Job Duties

Provide therapy services to students to enhance participation and performance in daily school activities

Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in collaboration with teachers and special education staff

Evaluate fine motor skills, sensory integration, and adaptive functioning needs

Support students with self-regulation, handwriting, and classroom engagement

Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and state requirements

Collaborate with IEP teams to set and achieve student-centered goals
Federal and State Requirements

Masters degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
-
Active New Mexico OT license (or eligibility for licensure)

Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Fingerprint and background check clearance as required by the district
