An opportunity is available for a dedicated School Social Worker to support students in an elementary school setting in Los Alamos, NM. This contracted role offers 40 hours per week, focused on helping young learners from pre-kindergarten to sixth grade develop positive social skills and effectively manage behaviors within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group social work services to students across PK-6 grade levels.
- Address behavioral challenges and promote social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administration to create supportive interventions.
- Connect families with community resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with credentialing standards.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) credential recognized by the state of New Mexico and the Public Education Department (PED).
- Demonstrated experience working with children in school settings, particularly in managing behaviors and enhancing social skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to working on-site at Barranca and Aspen Elementary Schools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
