A school district in New Haven, CT is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to support student wellbeing and academic success. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to address the diverse needs of students and contribute to their positive development. The position includes travel between schools within the district, allowing for varied and engaging work environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to assess student needs and guide instructional strategies
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement intervention plans
- Provide individual and group counseling services to support student emotional and behavioral health
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP development and implementation
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Promote a positive and inclusive school climate through proactive consultation and prevention efforts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
- Valid state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings
- Strong assessment, counseling, and consultative skills
- Ability to manage travel between multiple schools efficiently
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
