Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Job Duties

Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP

Assist in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and therapy plans

Support students in improving speech, language, and communication skills

Collect and record student performance data for review by the supervising SLP

Collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to reinforce communication strategies

Maintain therapy materials and prepare activities as directed by the supervising SLP

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
Federal and State Requirements

Associates or Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant studies or related field

Current Minnesota SLPA license or eligibility required

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Minnesota school districts
