Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are needed for maternity leave coverage in multiple elementary and junior high schools within the Chicago, IL area. These contract positions serve K-12 students in structured learning environments focused on supporting children with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.
Locations include:
- Holmes Primary School, Clarendon Hills, IL (4 classrooms)
- Anne M Jeans Elementary School, Willowbrook, IL (2 classrooms)
- Kingsley Elementary, Downers Grove, IL (1 classroom)
- Westmont Jr. High, Westmont, IL (2 classrooms)
Assignment Details:
- Duration: Approximately late January 2026 through early June 2026, varying by specific school assignment.
- Hours: Full-time, approximately 35 to 37.5 hours per week.
- Caseload: Each SLP will support 3-4 self-contained classrooms in the Structured Learning Environment (SLE) program, with 6-8 students per classroom.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech endorsement.
- Active Illinois Speech License.
- Credentials accepted include certified SLPs (CCC), Clinical Fellows (CFY), and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA).
- Experience working with children with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language services to students within self-contained classrooms.
- Collaborate with special education teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation.
- Engage families and staff to support student communication goals.
This role requires onsite work and does not offer virtual options. The positions are part of a cooperative providing special education services across multiple districts.
