A Speech Language Pathologist is needed to support K-12 students in the Jacksonville area through a contract position running from January 5, 2026, to May 28, 2026. This role involves working with the parentally placed private school team within Duval County Public Schools, supporting speech and language services primarily on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a flexible third day each week.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and assist with speech and language evaluations primarily scheduled at the district office, minimizing travel requirements.
- Participate in multidisciplinary referral and eligibility meetings to help determine evaluation needs and interpret results for educational teams and parents.
- Support the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through evaluation interpretation, though direct IEP development will be limited.
- Manage a variable caseload with flexibility to provide services virtually or in person as determined by scheduling needs.
- Provide thorough documentation and report writing, either remotely or onsite.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Department of Health (FL DOH) licensure in Speech Language Pathology is required.
- Experience working across K-12 age groups in school settings.
- Ability to work both in-person and virtually to accommodate team needs.
- Strong skills in conducting comprehensive speech-language evaluations and collaborating within multidisciplinary educational teams.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with educators, parents, and students.
