A K-12 school in Lake Wales, FL is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide specialized support to students throughout the school year on a contract basis. This role involves working closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help students develop the skills needed to succeed academically and functionally within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized treatment plans that address students fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care needs
- Implement therapeutic interventions designed to improve students participation and performance in classroom activities
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to modify classrooms and learning materials to meet students unique needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment approaches accordingly
- Communicate regularly with parents and education teams to share updates and recommendations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license and credentials
- Experience providing OT services in school settings, preferably K-12
- Knowledge of educational strategies and compliance with regulations related to school therapy
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with students, families, and educators
- Ability to document services accurately and maintain confidentiality
