A licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed for a contract position serving a long-term school year schedule in Gonzales, LA, within a K-12 educational setting. This role involves working with students ages 3-22 who have moderate to severe disabilities, supporting a caseload of approximately 71 students across multiple schools. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational and developmental progress of students in diverse school environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state regulations.
- Support students across 5 K-6 schools and 1 high school (grades 7-12) within the district.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall educational goals of the students.
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license is required.
- Experience working with pediatric populations in a school or educational therapy setting is preferred.
- Ability to manage a sizable caseload and provide services in multiple locations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
