Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed to support students with moderate to severe disabilities in a K-12 educational setting. This contract position runs from mid-December 2025 through late May 2026, serving a diverse student population aged 3 to 22 years. The role involves working within multiple school locations in the Napoleonville, LA area to provide both direct and indirect occupational therapy services.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering occupational therapy interventions tailored to students individual education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborating with educators, therapists, and families to enhance student participation in school activities
- Monitoring and documenting student progress and adjusting strategies as needed
- Managing a caseload of approximately 71 students across six schools, providing support in both group and one-on-one settings
- Ensuring compliance with all state licensing regulations and school district policies
Qualifications and experience required:
- Active Louisiana COTA license in good standing
- Experience working with children and young adults with moderate to severe disabilities in school environments
- Ability to effectively manage a large, diverse caseload and deliver services across multiple locations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work within multidisciplinary teams
Location: Napoleonville, Louisiana, within a district covering five elementary schools (K-6) and one high school (grades 7-12).
This contract offers approximately 37.5 hours per week and the chance to impact student development throughout the school year.
