A full-time Occupational Therapist opportunity is available supporting K-12 students across multiple schools in Trussville, AL. This itinerant role involves delivering skilled OT services to children ages 3-21, promoting their development and participation within educational settings. Serving approximately 40-60 students, you will provide hands-on therapy and collaborate closely with school staff and families to support individualized education program (IEP) goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy interventions across 4-5 school sites
- Assess student functional abilities and develop tailored treatment plans
- Support students participation in academic and non-academic school activities
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Alabama Occupational Therapist license required
- Experience working with pediatric populations in school-based settings
- Proven ability to manage caseloads of 40-60 students
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively engage stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills to manage itinerant responsibilities
Location: Trussville, AL
Work Schedule: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Duration: Contract for the current school year
