Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A part-time social worker position is available to provide direct support and services to middle school students. The role focuses on delivering compassionate and effective social work interventions tailored to the unique needs of adolescents in an educational setting.
Location:This position is onsite in Pawtucket, RI, serving a middle school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling for students to address social, emotional, and behavioral issues.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and community resources to develop and implement comprehensive student support plans.
- Conduct assessments and maintain accurate documentation of student progress and interventions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of strategies to enhance student well-being.
- Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active state social worker license with educator endorsement or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with middle school-aged children in a school social work capacity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and school personnel.
- Ability to manage caseload efficiently and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of community resources and referral processes to support student needs.
Work Schedule and Duration:
- Part-time schedule of 2 to 3 full days per week, typically from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Contract duration from January 5, 2026, through June 15, 2026.
