Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support a K-12 school district in State College, PA. This position primarily serves elementary students across one or two district buildings, providing essential therapeutic services within a supportive educational environment. Under the supervision of the districts Occupational Therapy Registered Coordinator (OCR), the COTA will contribute to enhancing students functional abilities and participation in school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to K-12 students, focusing mainly on the elementary level
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement individualized therapy plans
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed under OCR supervision
- Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies
Desired Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working with children in a school setting preferred
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative communication with school personnel
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
Schedule & Location:
- Full semester contract from ASAP through May 29, 2026
- Monday through Friday; approximately 5-6 hours per day
- Position based in State College, PA within one or two school buildings of the district
