Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A rewarding opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to provide essential support and services within an educational setting. This role involves working directly with students to enhance their functional abilities, enabling greater participation in school activities and supporting their academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized therapy plans tailored to students needs.
- Implement interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized education program (IEP) development.
- Provide training and resources to staff and families to support student progress outside of direct therapy sessions.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in pediatric or school-based settings.
- Strong understanding of child development and therapy techniques applicable within schools.
- Ability to travel between educational sites as required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with school personnel, students, and families.
- Flexibility to adapt therapy approaches based on individual student needs and school guidelines.
Location:This position is based in Essex Junction, VT, with travel to various school sites within the district.
