A contract position is available for a Social Worker specializing in K-12 schools, located in Naples, FL. This role involves providing evidence-based individual and group mental health counseling to students within a 35-hour workweek, from January 5, 2026, through May 29, 2026. Assignments will vary depending on the schools served within the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver mental health services including counseling and crisis intervention using verbal de-escalation and TEACH techniques.
- Prepare relevant sections of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including data collection and progress monitoring for students.
- Collaborate effectively with classroom teams, including teachers and paraprofessionals, ensuring coordinated support for students.
- Conduct psycho/social/behavioral assessments and develop remediation plans grounded in research-based educational and therapeutic practices.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
- Florida Department of Education Certification in social work, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Mental Health Provider as defined by Chapter 491, F.S.
- Alternatively, candidates with a Masters degree must become Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns within six months of hire, work under a qualified supervisor, and obtain clinical licensure within three years.
- Minimum of two years experience working with children and parents in mental health settings.
- Demonstrated ability to perform thorough mental health appraisals and implement appropriate interventions.
