An opportunity is available for a dedicated Social Worker specializing in K-12 education to support mental health services within schools in Bonita Springs, FL. This contract position runs from January 5, 2026, through May 29, 2026, offering the chance to work on-site with a flexible school assignment caseload.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based individual and group counseling to identified students, primarily within the K-12 age range.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies, including verbal de-escalation techniques tailored for children and adolescents.
- Prepare and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) documentation, including data collection and progress monitoring.
- Collaborate effectively with classroom personnel, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and other related service providers.
- Conduct mental health appraisals encompassing psycho-social and behavioral assessments and develop corresponding remediation plans.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling is required; candidates with degrees in Psychology are not eligible.
- A minimum of two years experience working with children and parents, conducting mental health evaluations, and applying research-based therapeutic practices.
- Must hold Florida Department of Education Certification in Social Work, be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Mental Health Provider as governed by Chapter 491, F.S.
- Alternatively, candidates holding a relevant Master's degree must register as a Mental Health Counselor Intern within six months of hire, work under supervision, and obtain clinical licensure within three years.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary education teams.
