Providing essential mental health support and counseling within K-12 educational settings, this opportunity focuses on supporting students social and emotional well-being through evidence-based interventions and collaboration with educational teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group mental health counseling tailored to students needs using evidence-based practices.
- Implement verbal de-escalation techniques during crises, particularly for adolescent and child behavioral challenges.
- Contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEP) by preparing relevant documentation, data collection, and progress monitoring.
- Collaborate effectively with classroom teams, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
- Perform comprehensive mental health appraisals assessing psycho/social/behavioral functioning, informed by research-based therapeutic methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required.
- Florida Department of Education Certification in social work, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Mental Health Provider as defined by Chapter 491, F.S.
- Candidates with a Masters degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling must become Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns within six months of hire and obtain clinical licensure within three years, under qualified supervision.
- Minimum of two years experience working with children and families, with a demonstrated ability to conduct mental health assessments and develop remediation plans.
