Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide speech-language pathology services through teletherapy to students in a K-12 setting, focusing on supporting those in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program within a regional day school program for the deaf. This full-time contract role is based in Mesquite, Texas, with a commitment through the current school year.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering remote speech-language therapy and communication support tailored to the needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Collaborating with educators and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting therapeutic approaches accordingly.
- Utilizing American Sign Language (ASL) fluency to enhance communication effectiveness.
- Maintaining detailed records and reports in compliance with school and state regulations.
Qualifications and experience:
- Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license required.
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or certification as Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT) preferred.
- Experience with teletherapy in an educational setting strongly desired.
- Previous work with K-12 students, particularly those in DHH programs, is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage students in a virtual environment.
