Role Summary
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Thornton, CO, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver therapy services that enhance students fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily functional abilities. You will help implement individualized therapy plans that promote independence and engagement in the school environment.
Responsibilities
Provide direct therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
Assist in implementing and documenting individualized treatment plans
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student goals
Monitor and record student progress and communicate updates to the supervising OT
Prepare and organize therapy materials and adaptive equipment
Support the OT in assessments and classroom-based interventions
Requirements (Colorado)
Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Active Colorado state COTA licensure
Active Colorado Department of Education (CO DOE) certification
Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
