Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Duties

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in students

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet student goals

Provide direct therapy and monitor student progress toward objectives

Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support communication development

Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal education guidelines
Federal and State Requirements

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Current Maryland SLP license or eligibility for licensure required

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Maryland school districts
