A preschool program is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized support to young learners with moderate to severe disabilities in a single building setting. This contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with students using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, alongside those with complex learning needs. The position is based in Lowell, MA, within an elementary school environment serving a diverse caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech and language therapy to preschool students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Assess, develop, and implement AAC strategies tailored to student needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Manage a growing caseload that may reach up to 30 students by the end of the school year.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Speech-Language Pathologist certificate required.
- Experience working with AAC devices and students with complex communication needs.
- Open to Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellows (SLP CF) beginning their careers.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to manage and communicate effectively with a varied caseload.
Schedule and Duration:
- Contract duration through December 23, 2025, with possible extension to June 16, 2026.
- Approximately 24 hours per week, typically four days a week at six hours per day.
- Caseload and hours may increase as the school year progresses.
