Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide specialized support within a K-12 educational setting in Tacoma, WA. This contract position extends through the entire school year (NSY) and offers the opportunity to work with diverse student populations to enhance their communication skills and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of students' speech, language, and communication abilities in accordance with established guidelines.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other education professionals to support student progress.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and treatment plans.
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP - CCC).
- Experience working as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP - School).
- Strong understanding of speech and language development in school-aged children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills tailored for a K-12 educational environment.
- Ability to manage caseloads independently and efficiently.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to special education and SLP services in schools.
