Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Licensed COTA or OT to provide occupational therapy services within an elementary school setting in Tacoma, WA. The position is a full-time contract through June 16, 2026, serving elementary students at two school sites. This role requires onsite presence and offers a dynamic school environment with a structured schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services aligned with individual education plans for elementary students
- Collaborate with educational staff to support students developmental and therapeutic needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and school district requirements
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student progress monitoring
- Arrive onsite 15 minutes before and stay 15 minutes after the school day (school hours: 9:35 AM 4:05 PM)
Qualifications:
- Current Washington State license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Fingerprinting completed and approved through the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)
- Proven experience working with children in a school environment, particularly for COTAs
- Ability to work full-time onsite (37.5 hours per week) for the duration of the contract
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school staff and families
