Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Elementary School Setting
Location: Kent, WA
Duration: Contract through June 16, 2026
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, onsite
An immediate need exists for a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide specialized therapy services within an elementary school environment. This contract position supports students at two school sites, with school hours from 9:35 AM to 4:05 PM. Staff are required to arrive 15 minutes before and stay 15 minutes after the school day to ensure full support of student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to elementary-aged students under the direction and guidance of school-based therapy teams
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support students educational goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school and state regulations
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student progress evaluations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Washington State license for COTA or OT
- Fingerprinting clearance completed through the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)
- For COTAs: prior experience working in a school setting is required to ensure familiarity with educational-based therapy practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a school team environment
